YEAR 2022

Organization of the 2023 Congress of the Brazilian Group of Dental Materials by PPGO-UNIP

At the meeting of the Brazilian Group of Dental Materials (GBMD) held in July 2022, it was decided that the 2023 event will be held in São Paulo, with the organization of professors from the Graduate Program in Dentistry at UNIP.

Prof. doctor Adriano F. Lima, professor at PPGO-UNIP, presented his candidacy to organize the event. After being voted by the GBMD Board of Directors and by those present at the General Assembly, the proposal was approved to be held in São Paulo. Thus, the Congress will be chaired by Prof. Adriano Lima, with Profa. Flávia Pires Rodrigues, and will have the participation of professors and students from the areas of Dentistry, Biomaterials and Prosthesis.

The Congress will take place between July 19 and 22, 2023, at the theater of Universidade Paulista Campus Paraíso, with capacity for 540 people. GBMD is the oldest dentistry group in Brazil and this event has already been held in several cities across the country, now in its 58th edition.

The 59th edition of the Congress will be attended by renowned international professors, with representatives from Brazil and from several countries, such as England, Portugal, Hong Kong and Germany. The holding of such an important event by the PPGO-UNIP demonstrates the relevance of the course among the most important in Brazil, especially after the quadrennial evaluation by CAPES, which awarded a 5 to the course this year.

  This event was held in Texas, the Master’s program student Ms Renata de Almeida Antonaccio, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Elcio Magdalena Giovanni, won third place with the research “A expectativa dos graduandos em Odontologia da UNIP frente ao atendimento a pacientes que convivem com HIV/AIDS” ("The expectations of UNIP’s Dentistry undergraduate students regarding the care of HIV/AIDS-positive patients"). This event is considered the most important in the area of Dentistry for patients with special needs.
