Vida no Campus

Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Comunicação

Life on Campus

The Graduate Program in Communication is located on the São Paulo city campus, where classes are held. Students from all over Brazil and Latin American countries meet and exchange experiences in their free time, or at the campus restaurants and snack bars. People with the most diverse professional backgrounds in the Social Sciences area exchange experiences during the course and promote multidisciplinary discussions that contribute to their professional and academic growth.

To access the UNIP campuses, you must have a UNIP student ID card, which is provided as soon as your enrollment is confirmed.

On campus, you will have access to the Library, the computer room for students, the research laboratories, and the faculty room, which will always be available both physically and remotely.

The area surrounding the campus offers excellent restaurants, snack bars, and bars that cater to all budgets, from those operating on a "pay-per-kilo" system to those classified as five-star. Besides great restaurants, 15 minutes away you can find one of the main cultural centers in São Paulo, with cinemas, museums, and theaters.

The campus is served by a public transportation system that specifically has a route designed to connect the campus to the nearest São Paulo Metro station.

Student Life

PPGO students travel from their residences or workplaces to the UNIP campus for classes, seminars, or research group meetings. Around the campus, there are paid parking lots and excellent access to public transportation.

Living in São Paulo

São Paulo is the main city of one of the largest metropolises in the world. It is the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere and the eighth largest in the world, in terms of population. Economically, it has the third-largest GDP in Brazil, second only to the state of São Paulo and the country itself. It is a city that pulsates 24 hours a day, every day. Markedly multicultural, São Paulo is the city for those who wish to be at the center of the country's cultural production. If the intention is to go on a cultural tour, theaters, cinemas, the Pinacoteca, the Municipal Libraries, the Cultural Center can all be part of your itinerary. From the latest films to blockbusters, or that alternative one you only see at the Film Festival, they are available in cinemas throughout the city. São Paulo Hall is the home of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, a classic building whose architecture dates back to the Coffee Cycle period, as does the São Paulo Municipal Theater, where music from all eras of excellent quality can be appreciated.

São Paulo has several municipal parks, which are full of families, athletes, and pets on weekends and holidays. The most famous in the city is Ibirapuera Park, which is close to the campus, but others also stand out, such as Aclimação Park, Carmo Park, Água Branca Park, Trianon Park, São Paulo Botanical Garden, Horto Florestal, as well as state parks, such as Villa Lobos State Park and Cantareira State Park, among many others.

São Paulo is one of the main gastronomic centers in the Southern Hemisphere. In its bars and restaurants, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, international cuisine is featured, in a true journey across the five continents, from Italy, Portugal, Germany, France, China, Japan, India, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Egypt, Morocco, and national cuisine is revered.

Since we don't live by studies alone, São Paulo offers various opportunities for Leisure, Gastronomy, Culture, Education and, when necessary, excellent hospitals and medical care centers.
It is a city that presents a hospital network ranging from hospitals serving the Unified Health System to private hospitals, all with protocols for medical and hospital care considered a reference, both nationally and internationally.

If the intention is to go shopping, the various Shopping Centers and 25 de Março Street can be your choice! Stores specializing in electronics, tools, art supplies, laboratory materials, raw materials for cosmetics, grains, spices, among many others, are easily found in the more central neighborhoods of the city.

Getting around the city is easy, and there are many bus, Metro, and train options, as well as a vast network of parking lots, if traveling by car. Taxi services and apps like UBER are also available.

São Paulo offers a wide range of housing and accommodation possibilities, if the student is not a resident and chooses to live close to the campuses. As prices vary greatly depending on the region, rental, hotel, AirBnB, and inn services can be accessed on specialized websites.
